Hands on Training
The essence of our programs is to ensure self-reliability and training for the future, to empower the organisations to be self-sufficient going forward. Supplying equipment without the training and management processes knowledge would not allow us to meet our goals and mission.
We are currently working on providing bi-monthly training sessions on pressure care prevention, equipment options, assessment and application. Custom seating fabrication and wheelchair prescription and set up.
Courses are provided to Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists,
Wheelchair Technicians and Care Givers. The first trainings were facilitated by the Fiji School of
Medicine at their Suva campus.
We are working together with the directors to help design a uniquely
Fijian assessment process that we can train nationally and empower their assessors and solution providers.
The Tamavua Rehab Centre is home to the equipment reconditioning and issue centre. A key element of our assistance program is to initiate a continual training program so that knowledge can be added to equipment to provide greater successful outcomes.
We are providing new tools and
equipment alongside that training to ensure that there is capability on the ground to turn equipment donated by all agencies into outcomes.
